Wedding at Fitzroy Gardens Pavillion – Caroline and Jake

10th December 2010

Another beautiful day, another beautiful Melbourne Wedding.

We met our bride Caroline at her parent’s house in Ivanhoe  to take shoots of her getting ready. She was wearing a beautiful wedding dress, in a traditional style, complemented by a stunning Mantilla veil. It made for some elegant Melbourne Bridal Photography.

Next stop, Loreto Mandeville Hall in Toorak, the school attended by Caroline in her youth. We were there to meet Jake, our groom, as the ceremony was to take place in the school’s chapel, the Chapel of Christ the King. We took a few shots of Jake and his best man and we got ready for Caroline’s big entrance.

Andrea, our principal Melbourne Photographer met the bride outside for a few photos in the bridal car and to capture her walking down the aisle while Mauro, our second Melbourne Wedding Photographer, was placed on the church organ’s upper balcony to capture the aerial view of the bride’s entrance.

Caroline was quite emotional and Andrea captured a moving image of  our bride wiping a tear from her eye. The church’s whitewashed walls and stained glass windows were the perfect background for some really Artistic Wedding Photography.

Once Caroline and Jake were declared husband and wife, it was time for some family portrait photography on the school’s portico. We loved  Loreto Mandeville Hall’s portico so much that we got our couple to pose for us for some Formal Wedding Photography, including some spectacular high key and silhouette photography.

We rode on the wedding car along with the couple and their bridal party to Fitzroy Gardens, where we mixed  fun shots with more artistic wedding photography, with plenty of lens flare created by the sun rays poking through the trees.

It was such a hot day that we decided to give our couple a break and went to their bridal suite at the Windsor Hotel for a cold drink. We love the old world feel of the Windsor Hotel so we took a few shots in the corridors and the reception area. We had a little adventure when we got stuck in the old elevator but the Windsor’s staff promptly rescued us so that Caroline and Jake could head back to the Fitzroy Gardens for their reception at the Pavilion, where we got a lovely photo of their entrance and a few traditional shots of our couple cutting the Wedding cake to conclude another wonderful day of Wedding Photography in Melbourne.
