Newborn Photography, Baby Photography, and Family Portraits in Melbourne
29th March 2013
We photographed Mick and Donna’s wedding in 2010 and we still consider their photos one of our favourite works.
We had recently the pleasure to catch up with them and photograph their newborn baby, Orlando, in our Photography Studio in Brunswick East.
Sporting a thick crop of hair and with the most beautiful blue eyes we fell in love with little Orlando immediately.
Orlando’s parents are both professional actors. This may explain why he was such a natural in front of the camera.
At Amarcord Photography we believe in providing value for money by combining Newborn Photography with Family Portraits in the one session and that is what we did for Mick, Donna and Orlando.
Newborn and Baby photography cannot be rushed because the baby’s needs will dictate the time schedule.
We understand and cater for this by providing in our Brunswick East Photography Studio a private room for feeding or to allow the baby to rest.
By stepping back and taking it slow, we allowed the parents to interact more with the baby, allowing us to create a more Natural Baby Photography.
We mixed the lighting techniques, photographing the baby with studio lights for short periods and then using the natural light streaming from the private room’s window, to allow baby Orlando’s eyes to rest, away from the flashing lights.
Orlando was an angel throughout; he only cried when he got hungry. When it happened, we let Donna feed him in the private room while we busied ourselves setting up a different backdrop to be used for the Family Photography.
Once he was satisfied, we resumed work and got some lovely photos of the family with the black backdrop.
We would like to thank again Mick and Donna for choosing Amarcord Photography to preserve their most precious memories.
It was so lovely to see them again and to meet their adorable son.
