Elopement Destination Wedding Photography at Lorne Mantra
4th January 2011
We travelled to the beautiful coastal town of Lorne, on the Great Ocean Road, to photograph the beautiful and romantic Elopement Destination Wedding of Gina and Rod.
Apart from the spectacular location, what made this wedding special was the fact that we were going to be the only people (along with celebrant, obviously)to witness their union.
Our couple eloped from the USA (the bride) and Canada (the groom), to fulfil the dream of marrying in Australia.
When they hired us, they told us they wanted to be photographed on a beach. We suggested to pick a location along the Great Ocean Road and they settled on Lorne. They decided to stay and marry at the Lorne Mantra.
After a quick ceremony, celebrated in the Lorne Mantra’s garden, we took our couple to the beach for the formal wedding photography. We took photos of our couple on the Lorne Pier and then drove off to a beach nearby.
As the couple was not wearing a traditional wedding dress and suit, the images we created had more the feeling of a fashion photoshoot than wedding photography.
We finished the day with some photos of our gorgeous couple on the Lorne Swing Bridge and we wished all the best to Gina and Rod who were leaving Australia a few days afterward.
